Butyl sealant tapes are a waterproof sealing tape that has a large number of application uses due to it creating a waterproof seal when applied. What are Butyl GCA tapes used for?
GCA Butyle Sealant Putty Tapes are relatively odour free and tend to be high performance-based. Consequently, they are ideal for: external metal sheeting - sealing end and side laps in steel and aluminium roofing systems - sealing roof lights, ridge and eaves sealing in combination with foam fillers, metal liner sheeting - sealing end laps, sealing metal flashings, sealing penetrations to roof and wall cladding and similar applications.
This type of butyl tape are National Federation of Roofing Contractors Class A Certified, and are excellent seal tapes.
These tapes are suitable for use in steel and aluminium roofing systems and are Building Regulations Approved Document Part L Standard.
These double-sided strips come in a putty-like consistency making them easy to apply and mould into position.

After years of trying to make an artificial stream in my garden and being thwarted each winter when the cement lining cracked, I finally decided to use a liner. The only problem was how to fix the liner so that its edge just cleared the water level. I then found this wonderful product and have successfully used it to stick the liner to bare rock. It is also useful for securing the inevitable creases that form in the liner. I have found that it works equally well on butyl and on plastic liners. Highly recommended.

This is a great tape for my needs, which is primarily joining together of root barrier membrane sheets. As long as I ensure the areas needing to be taped are clean and dry I do not think I could find a better tape for the job - 5/5
