Excellent solution for repairing leaky conservatory roofs. Had tried everything else and this works a treat. Highly recommended even for the biblical rain we've had recently. Five Stars particularly as its available in white.

Questions previously asked about tapes in this range

Question:
I am repairing a caravan roof where the end panel meets the main roof panel. I presume the product is self-adhesive. In what sort of temperatures can it be applied? Although he caravan is covered in the wet winter months, it is left uncovered in the summer months and water can sit on the roof. How long will it be before the product becomes ineffective due to the water. Will it last the whole year? - Geoff

Answer:
Hello Geoff, Thank-you for your enquiry. This tape will do the job, and will last well over a year, as long as the tape is applied correctly - Matt, Product Support Manager

Question:
Hi does this flashing tape do conservatories to brickwork. 99 % sure it does just making sure, as says washing machines and caravans - Wendy

Answer:
Hi Wendy, yes this is the primary application for the flashing tape - Ian, Product Support Manager

Question:
Hi there. I am in the process of replacing the roof for my conservatory with new polycarbonate. I see that this product is recommended for flashings for this type of work, which is great. I was looking at using something like DEKS KwikFlash or the Hambleside Danelaw FastFlash type products for the ridge and abutment flashings but wondered if you could tell me if the HS Butyl Flashing is the same specification as these products ie is it Aluminium stretch netting cast in polymer rubber for expansion and long term strength? I need a butyl backed flashing (definitely not bituminous!) that will not attack the polycarbonate sheeting. Am pretty certain this is the case with the HS Butyl but can you confirm for me, please? The abutment wall the flashing will go against is stone - again, can you confirm the HS Butyl will adhere satisfactorily to this, please? I should add that, in addition to the butyl flashing for protection against water ingress, I will be dressing over the butyl flashings with Code 4 lead, which will also help weather the butyl flashing. I am concerned, given they are quite a bit more expensive, that the KwikFlash or Fast Flash versions may be unnecessarily 'over specify' in this scenario. If the HS Butyl meets the required specifications for the task in hand then it would be good to avoid what may be seen as an unnecessary expense! I would be most grateful for your thoughts regarding my enquiry and any advice offered would be warmly welcomed. Many thanks and best regards - Laurie

Answer:
Good Morning Laurie, Thank you for your enquiry into the use of our butyl flashing tape. I can confirm that this product is polycarbonate friendly and is used commonly for this type of application. The 1.5mm thick butyl adhesive is very aggressive and conformable, making it the perfect choice for creating a weather seal on uneven surfaces. The elasticity of the butyl will also allow for differential rates of expansion - Ian, Product Support Manager

Question:
Hi does this flashing tape do conservatories to brickwork. 99 % sure it does just making sure, as says washing machines and caravans - Wendy

Answer:
Hi Wendy, yes this is the primary application for the flashing tape - Ian, Product Support Manager

Question:
I would like to buy a butyl flashing tape But what I want to know if any of the ones listed on your website are low in odour, as I want to insulate my car with it - Live Chat

Answer:
The product is relatively odour free - Ian, Product Support Manager

Question:
Is it coated with aluminium on top? And do you know how heavy is a m2 of that tape? - Live Chat

Answer:
A 200mm x 20m weighs around 8.5kg - Ian, Product Support Manager

Question:
Do you know the weight of the 150mm x20 mm by any chance? - Live Chat

Answer:
it would be pro-rata 6.37kg approx - Ian, Product Support Manager

Question:
Perfect, thank you very much for your help - Live Chat

Question:
I will be undertaking a self build project that is timber frame and timber clad. The windows I intend using are Andersen 400 windows (American company) with a nailing flange. In the instructions they mention self healing butyl flashing and looking at various American web sites Tyvek Flexwrap flashing for the sill and Tyvek straight flashing for sides and top are used. Whilst Tyvek flexwrap is available in the UK only 150mm width is available not 250mm and Tyvek straight flashing is not available. Can you recommend a butyl flashing for weather protection and air leakage and that is self healing because some mechanical fixings on the vertical sections would penetrate the flashing. I look forward to hearing from you however if you need further information please do not hesitate to contact me. - Stephen

Answer:
Morning Stephen, I feel that [this] butyl flashing tape would help with this application as the adhesive is self healing and 1.5mm thick. We do stock lead and white finishes in 200mm widths - Ian, Product Support Manager

Question:
I need a flashing tape for sealing my polycarb roof to the wall. Is 200mm x 1.5mm x 10 Metres Butyl Flashing Tape the best choice? - Tony Hi Tony, yes the 200mm would be perfect for this application, then simply decide on a facing colour of either white or lead - Ian, Product Support Manager Can this product stretch to form into corrugated roofing panels? - Live Chat

Answer:
Hello ,the product won't stretch as it is a butyl backed foil. It is very conformable though - Ian, Product Support Manager

Question:
OK Thanks - Live Chat
