What is the liner used on this range tapes?

These red transparent tapes have a red filmic MOPP liner which enhances the transparency of the adhesive giving you a more professional finish.

The adhesive used on this polyester tape is a cross-linked-solvent-high-performance-acrylic adhesive. Consequently, this adhesive is specially formulated to provide you with a strong bond and very good cohesive strength, even in the most demanding of conditions.

What is the carrier used on this range tapes?

The carrier used on this range of tapes is a made from 25 Micron transparent polyester.

What is this range of tapes resistant to?

This range of tapes has a good resistance to most weather conditions, UV, and plasticizers.

How do you apply this type of tape?

When applying this tape the surfaces to be bonded should be: dry, dust and grease-free and thoroughly clean. Avoid touching the exposed adhesive surface of the tape as this impairs its performance. The ideal cleaning method should incorporate use of a solvent, such as Isopropyl alcohol.

To attain the optimum bond strength sufficient pressure should be applied to the tape to ensure a good adhesive “wet out” on the substrates. This tape is a pressure-sensitive adhesive, and the best results are achieved with maximum surface contact under pressure.

The bond strength will reach its optimum strength after 24 hours.

Answer: The polyester carrier is 12mic without adhesive 9:53 am 1mm thick would take you into the realms of foam tape, and to be honest 1mm foam tapes are difficult to slit in 3mm – Ian, Product Support Manager

Answer: Okay, well the 3mm polyester tape you have been looking at has a total thickness of 300 micron without the carrier Again to get into 0.5/1mm you would be looking at structural bonding tape for clear, or standard foam tapes.
